Overview
Every email FullEnrich finds is verified and given one of four statuses. The status tells you how likely the email is to reach the inbox, so you can decide what to send to.
Valid: send. Average bounce rate 1-2%. Uses 1 credit.
Probably valid: usually send. Average bounce rate ~9%. Uses 1 credit.
Catch-all: it depends. Average bounce rate 26-40%. Uses 1 credit.
Invalid: don't send. No credits used.
Email Status Explained
Valid
The email address exists and can receive emails. This is the most reliable status.
Should you send? Yes.
Probably valid
The email is on a catch-all server, but we found positive signals showing it is likely to be valid. In the API, this status is called "High probability".
Should you send? Usually, yes.
Catch-all
Some email servers are set up to accept every address on their domain, whether it exists or not. If you ask a catch-all server whether [email protected] or [email protected] exists, it says "yes" to both. This means the address can't be fully confirmed.
Should you send? It depends on your sending volume and domain setup. See Should I send emails to catch-all addresses?
Invalid
The email address doesn't exist. This can be due to a deleted mailbox, a domain that no longer exists, or a wrong address.
Should you send? No.
When an email is invalid, FullEnrich keeps searching other providers for a valid one. You'll only see an Invalid email if no valid one was found. Invalid emails don't use credits.
Best Practices
Prioritise Valid and Probably valid emails in your campaigns.
If you send high volumes, send to catch-all emails from secondary domains, not your main company domain.
Monitor your bounce rate and adjust if it spikes.
